Make a list of the best things about you. Keep it handy in case you need to re-read it.
Ask your friends and family what they like about you. Keep those ideas handy for when you want to re-read them.
What obstacles have you faced and conquered?
Let’s talk about your perceived bad qualities. Make a list of everything you think is wrong with you, then make a list of things that are actually wrong with you. This is for you to realize that your thoughts aren’t facts sometimes!
What is a talent that you have that always impresses people?
How do you think your friends describe you to other people?
What is your favourite thing about your body?
How do you typically respond to someone belittling you? Is it a good way to respond? If not, how would you change your response?
What makes you feel good?
How do you want your childhood self to see you now?
Are you a perfectionist? What aspects of your life have to be perfect?
What is your version of beauty?
Do you think you’re a good person?
Write down things that you regret and/or can’t forgive yourself for. Then, write an apology for those things. Forgive yourself for those mistakes.
Do you talk more or listen more? Why is that?
What is your personal definition of success? What steps can you take to get there?
Which kind of person do you attract (in social interactions)? For example, you could attract extroverts who like to talk about themselves. Think of reasons why you attract that kind of person.
What can you talk about for hours? Discuss your passion in life.
Where do you belong? Think of who and what makes you feel like you fele like you belong.
What thing, big or small, are you most proud of? Tell me about it!
Who is someone you admire? What qualities do you like about them?
Do you think you are worthy of being loved? Why (The answer is always yes!).
Make a list of positive affirmations you can recite when you’re lacking confidence.
Building your self esteem back up is not as hard as you might think! By simply changing your mindset, you can work towards getting your confidence back to where it should be.
Here are a list of strategies you can use to improve your self-esteem:
Listen to your intuition more than your negative self-talk. You’re used to hearing that voice inside your head, but what if I told you that you’ve got two voices in there? You’ve got your negative self-talk, which is when you insult yourself, and your gut feeling, which is quieter. Learn to listen to that quieter voice.
Follow-up every negative thought with a positive one. Think of this like training your brain. Every single time you have a negative thought about yourself, follow it up with a positive thought. Eventually, you’ll see that the negative thoughts won’t be as common!
